This policy explains what personal information Cheshire Climate Solutions collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than legal jargon.
The short version: we only collect the details you give us when you ask for a quote or get in touch, we use them solely to reply to you and carry out the work, we never sell them to anyone, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Who we are
Cheshire Climate Solutions Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 16628993, based in Disley, Cheshire. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect
We only collect what you actively type into a form on this site. Depending on which form you use, that may include:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your address and postcode
- Details about the work you need — property type, number and size of rooms, where in the property, and the type of enquiry
- The indicative prices our quote builder showed you, so we can see what you were quoted
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not build a profile of you.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a site survey, prepare a quote, carry out and support the work, and keep proper business records.
Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract when you ask for a quote, and performance of a contract once you engage us. Where we keep records for accounting or warranty purposes, our basis is legal obligation or our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
We will not send you marketing without asking you separately first.
Who else sees it
We don't sell or rent your information, ever. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf so the website and our business can function:
- Netlify — hosts this website and receives form submissions before passing them to us by email.
- IONOS — provides our email, so your enquiry is stored in our mailbox.
- Google Fonts — this site loads its typefaces from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. No cookies are set by this.
- Our accountant and, where a job requires it, equipment manufacturers for warranty registration.
We may also disclose information where we're legally required to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records relating to work we've carried out are kept for 6 years, which is the period we need for tax, warranty and liability purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Ask us to delete your information, where we don't need to keep it
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Ask us to transfer it to someone else
Email hello@cheshireclimate.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. There's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and form submissions are encrypted in transit. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us and limit access to it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
