How we work

Fitted around your trading hours

The install matters less than the disruption it causes. We plan around that first.

1

Site survey

We look at heat load properly — occupancy, glazing, lighting, computer and kitchen equipment all add heat that a domestic rule of thumb would miss. We also check your incoming supply and distribution board.

2

Timing agreed upfront

Evenings, weekends, early mornings or shutdown periods. For most shops, salons and cafes, closing for the day isn't an option, so we work when you don't.

3

Fixed-price quote

Equipment, materials, labour, commissioning and paperwork in writing. No day-rate creep and no mid-job surprises.

4

Clean installation

Trunking run to suit the building, cores drilled and made good, plant sited where it won't upset neighbours or block fire exits. Everything cleared away before you open.

5

Commissioning and handover

Pressure test, vacuum, charge verified, performance checked in both modes, and staff shown how to run it without arguing over the remote.

6

Ongoing maintenance

Commercial systems work harder than domestic ones. We'll set up a service schedule that keeps them efficient and compliant.

Getting it right

What's different about commercial work

Heat load, not floor area. A 30m² office with eight people, a south-facing window and a rack of equipment has a completely different cooling requirement to a 30m² bedroom. Sizing on floor area alone is how businesses end up with systems that can't cope by mid-afternoon.

Duty of care. Employers have obligations around a reasonable working temperature. There's no legal maximum, but the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations require temperatures to be reasonable, and a stifling office is both a staff problem and a productivity one.

F-Gas record-keeping. Larger commercial systems carry mandatory leak-check intervals and record-keeping duties that fall on you as the operator, not on us. We'll tell you clearly whether your system is affected and keep the records you need.

Server rooms are their own problem. They need cooling year-round, including in January when everything else needs heating, and they don't tolerate downtime. That usually points to a dedicated system rather than sharing with the office.

Not sure what you need? Have a look at the systems we install, or the manufacturer specifications if you want the technical detail.

Credentials & standards

Who you're dealing with

Public liability insurance

Public liability insurance is held for all work we carry out. If you'd like to see the documentation, just ask and we'll happily provide our insurer's details.

Warranty you can rely on

2 years labour, every brand

Manufacturer parts cover is currently 7 years on Samsung and 5 years on Hitachi. Mitsubishi Electric varies by range but is typically 5 years. All subject to the manufacturer's own terms. We add a 2-year labour warranty on every system we install, covering our workmanship and the labour to fit any warranty part.

Refcom F-Gas certified

Certificate REF1023295

Cheshire Climate Solutions Ltd holds a Refcom company certificate under the Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations 2015, valid to August 2028, covering all system sizes. Checkable on Refcom's public register.

A registered company

Cheshire Climate Solutions Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company no. 16628993. Invoices, paperwork and warranties all come from a real registered business.

One point of contact

Matthew surveys, installs and services the job himself. No account managers, no subcontractors turning up who've never seen your site.

15+ years in the trade

Over a decade of installation work in the South of France before returning to the North West — commercial and residential, in conditions that punish a badly designed system.

Where we work

Across Cheshire and Greater Manchester

We're based in Disley, on the Cheshire side of the Greater Manchester boundary, which puts Stockport, Poynton, Bramhall, High Lane and Marple within minutes and Manchester, Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Altrincham, Knutsford, Warrington and Chester comfortably in range. We also work into North Wales.

For commercial customers that proximity is the point. When a system fails in a shop or a salon, the question isn't whether it can be fixed — it's how fast someone can get there.

Tell us your postcode and we'll confirm we cover you.

Common questions

Commercial air conditioning, answered

Can you install outside our opening hours?

Yes, and for most retail and hospitality customers that's exactly what we do. Evenings, weekends, early mornings or a planned shutdown — we agree the timing before the job is booked, and it's priced in rather than added on afterwards.

What size system does my premises need?

It depends on heat load, not floor area. People, lighting, computers, ovens, fridges and glazing all contribute. A survey measures the space and counts what's actually generating heat, which is the only reliable way to size a commercial system.

Do we have legal obligations around workplace temperature?

There's no absolute legal maximum temperature in UK workplaces, but the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require a reasonable temperature. In practice, a workspace that's unbearable in summer is a staff retention and productivity problem long before it's a legal one.

What are our F-Gas responsibilities as the operator?

If your system contains refrigerant above certain thresholds, you have duties as the operator: mandatory leak checks at set intervals, keeping records, and using certified engineers. The obligation sits with you, not your installer. We'll tell you whether your system is affected and keep the paperwork straight.

Can you cool a server or comms room?

Yes. Server rooms need year-round cooling even in winter, and they can't tolerate the system being off. That usually means a dedicated unit rather than sharing with the office, and often a specification that allows for low ambient operation. Worth discussing at survey.

How disruptive is the installation?

Less than most people fear. The noisy part is core drilling, which is a matter of minutes per hole. Most of the work is pipework and trunking. Scheduled outside trading hours, many of our customers open the next morning with the job finished and no sign we were there.

Do commercial systems need servicing more often?

Usually, yes. They run longer hours under heavier load, and often in dustier or greasier environments — kitchens especially. Six-monthly is common for hard-working systems, annually for lighter use. See servicing and maintenance.

What warranty do we get?

Manufacturer parts cover is currently 7 years on Samsung and 5 years on Hitachi. Mitsubishi Electric varies by range but is typically 5 years. All of it is granted under each manufacturer's own terms and at their discretion, and other brands vary. We add a 2-year labour warranty on every system we install, whatever the brand — covering our workmanship and the labour to fit any part claimed under the manufacturer's warranty. Claims are rare in practice; we only fit major brands precisely because they keep running. Manufacturer cover normally depends on correct installation and regular servicing, which matters more on commercial systems because they work harder. Exact terms are confirmed on your quotation before works are scheduled.

Can one outdoor unit serve several rooms?

Yes — a multi-split system runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit, which saves outside space and leaves one condenser to site and maintain. On cost it depends on the models compared: entry-level single-split units can be cheaper per room, while multi-split ranges start higher, so we price it both ways. It's a common choice for offices and salons with several treatment rooms. The MXZ-F multi-split sheet covers systems for two to six rooms.
